Testing
Product Evaluation
Since 1997, Wildlife Habitat Consultants has been testing products on a 36-acre parcel in East Hardwick, Vermont. We have grown many products including: Biologic Maxima, Biologic Premium, Biologic Full Draw, local Red and White Clovers, Tecomate Chicory, and Tecomate Monster Mix to find that they do not attract as well as some other products in our area.
Having this test facility located on the edge of the Northeast Kingdom, gives us two distinct advantages; low deer density and a short growing season. Low deer density suggests that products that are heavily browsed are preferred over all other forages in the area and the short growing season quickly eliminates many of the southern-developed products.
We continue to evaluate new products as they emerge on the market so you don’t have to spend your money on products that are not favorable. We realize that there is no “magic bean” and believe that there are new ideas and products that have not been developed yet. Therefore, it is critical to keep trying new products so you can be provided the best that the industry has to offer.
Each product has its own strengths that can complement other products if selected properly. For each product, we have listed what we believe are its strengths and how we recommend its use.
