Steam Mill Brook Wildlife Management Area Food Plot

Steam Mill Brook Wildlife Management Area Food Plot

In the wake of the controversial deer meetings last year the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department has been more engaged in habitat improvements on Wildlife Management Areas (WMA’s). One of the WMA’s that we were lucky enough to work on is Steam Mill Brook which lies in Caledonia County in the towns of Walden, Stannard, Wheelock, and Danville. This WMA is 10,421 acres with active logging and now new food plots.

The site that was just planted is located just as you get to Steam Mill Brook WMA parking area off Coles Pond Rd. The logging road leading into the landing and the landing itself were planted. Products that where used are Whitetail Institute’s Imperial Extreme and No-Plow. Both products are designed perfectly for these type of conditions.
